Here’s the magic…I got hired. [Testimonial]

Oct

“Hey Mr Duncan , I just felt the need to contact you after your previous trip to Augusta Tech in Grovetown. My name is Keenan Mason and I was unemployed from july until this month. Couple weeks ago I saw a posting on craigslist for an opening at DirecTV. I had been running low on money so it was crunch time as far as getting a job was concerned.

I have 3 major bills every month. So needless to say I emailed my resume, then later that day applied in person. Here’s the magic. When they called me in for an interview I used all the tips you talked about, including sending a thank you card.

Well it turns out I got hired. It was also brought to my attention that the reason I was hired was because of my deep interview conversation and the thank you note put me over the top!

So I really appreciate that man. Hopefully, we can keep in touch so I don’t lose any professionalism. Lol thanks Al. Have a good one bro.”

Al Duncan to Speak at Mitchell College on Increasing Personal Performance and Leadership

NEW LONDON, CT – October 18, 2011 –  Al Duncan,  the leading motivational speaker for at-risk youth, will be the featured speaker in a broadcast event sponsored by Mitchell College’s chapter of The National Society of Leadership and Success on Tuesday, October 25 at 7pm.

The program, produced live in Mitchell College’s Weller Center, will be broadcast to over 240 college campuses, and is part of a series of programs designed to support The National Society of Leadership and Success’s overall mission of building leaders who make a better world.

Despite being labeled an “at-risk” youth and overcoming an early family life that included sexual and drug abuse by family members, Duncan has managed to rise and thrive. He has gone on to become one of the leading motivational speakers for students around the globe.

His presentation, Rise N’ Thrive: From Great Potential to Exceptional Performance will teach methods to:

•Manage stress, pressure and extra responsibilities

•Discover the skills to lead and grow

•Develop your leadership brand

•Increase your performance

In addition to delivering his live programs to over one million young people around the world, Duncan is an award-winning columnist on youth development and empowerment and author of books such as My Success Journal For Young People and Get ALL Fired Up! Mr. Duncan will be available for book signing following his presentation.

The event is free and open to the public. Students and members of the campus community will have preferred seating in the College’s Weller Center. Guests are asked to arrive by 6:30pm and find seating as the live broadcast will begin promptly at 7pm. Earlier that afternoon, Mitchell College will host a professional development event for local school counselors and other youth advocate professionals with Mr. Duncan, an authority on soft skills, youth development and empowerment. Interested parties are asked to contact the Career Center at:

Careercenter@Mitchell.edu or 860-629-6022 by October 24th.

Mitchell College received a grant covering the speaking fees for this program from The National Society of Leadership and Success, largely in response to the participating of Mitchell College students at previous broadcast presentations.
