[INFOGRAPHIC] Cyberbullying: From The Playground To The Web
You don’t need me to tell you that with all of the incredible benefits of new technology comes a whole new array of problems. A huge one is cyberbullying. The statistics are staggering:
– 1 in 3 youth have been threatened online.[break]- 42% of teens with tech access report being cyberbullied over the past year.[break]- 3 million youth are absent from school each month because they fear bullies.[break]- Bullied youth are twice as likely to commit suicide as non-bullied youth.
Thank God for tougher anti-bullying legislation and events like the Anti-Bullying Conference for professionals and educators and the Power Over Prejudice Summit for middle school students. (I’ve been the keynote speaker at the POP Summit for three years and counting. Awesome.)
